Mmmm..... Vogue8575

I didn't have any good time with this pattern at all. It was drafted way too big. I had to take about 4" from the sides and 6 " from the length, I finished it since Monday but it was just on the form. I love my fabric though. I am not sure if I will wear it, it didn't just work for my body type I guess. I fell in love with the pattern when I saw it in my stash but after making it up....mmmmm just didn't like it or rather didn't work for me, but I will still go ahead and review it...... Sigh.....

Fabric: Matte Jersey from Fabric land

Pattern Description: Pullover dresses A, B, C, D, E, F in two lengths have partial self-faced, gathered bodice, lapped bodice front, princess seams, front self band, tie ends, side bodice variations and gathered skirt.

Pattern Sizing: 8-14, I cut size 12

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Not sure

Were the instructions easy to follow: Yeah the instructions were very easy

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: None,

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pattern was drafted too big, the actual length of my dress from neck to knee is 40.5" and the finished length of the pattern was printed as 40" after making it up , I had to remove 6" from the length and the bodies I removed 2" each from both sides before it could work for me a little bit... You should have seen me before the alteration... My little girl said I looked like a Sumo

Would you recommend it to others? With lots of precaution or if you think it will be nice for your body type

Conclusion: Didn't work for ... I won’t sew it again....

I have started working on my TNT dress pattern.... I hope that still remains

Have a good one everyone

  1. Well you did a fine job making it fit. It looks great on you.

  2. Can't see what you think the problem is. the fabric is nice.

  3. You did a great job on making it fit for you. I love your fabric! Dress looks good on you.

  4. That's too bad. I looked at the line drawing. It does have a lot of fullness, especially to be sewn with a knit. Bad pattern design. Still, you gave it a try. Not your fault.

  5. 4 inches! Sheesh! I think it looks really cute on you though - I love the print! Thanks for the review!

  6. That is a really pretty dress and I love the fabric!!!

  7. That turned out really nice and fits you well!

  8. It's too bad you don't like it... from the pictures it really does look great on you. I especailly like the print.

  9. I think it looks lovely on you. It's a really pretty dress! Your fabric has me salivating (I love a printed knit)!!!!

  10. You are such a pretty gal, great seamstress, etc. However, I think I do agree with you about not liking it...It just doesn't do anything for your great figure--must be all the scoopy lines and that grey color just isn't you. I am in the midst of tossing a top that I hand sewed a bunch of great OLD buttons on--and it's just NOT I DO understand. Your work is really neat and slick...but this dress just isn't you. I appreciate it so much when someone is truthful about a project like you were in your analysis. Hugs. "Aunt G" from PR

  11. Just found your blog from Pattern Review because I'm about to make this one. I think it looks really cute on you. Maybe you're just sick of seeing it. I feel that way after I make something, especially one that has given me problems. Let it hang in your closet for awhile. You might just change your mind.
